I grew up in Vancouver, and went to U.B.C for a B.A. in urban geography and then attended the U. of Calgary for Environmental Design, Architecture. This was followed by designing houses and residential and commercial buildings for architects in Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Ottawa and Toronto. Toronto was home for ten years and is where Lea and I started our family.

When the architecture business almost stopped in the early nineties in Toronto, I started my own company, Homewise Home Inspection Services. This included reporting and photography of the many technical aspects of various houses, and condos and commercial properties.

In this regard, I’ve worked hard for the satisfaction of hundreds of GTA realtors and thousands of home buyers. I have also inspected hundreds of newly built houses for Heathwood Homes, as a quality control expert for three of their large-scale development projects in the GTA.

This led to other work as a photographer for an American inspection firm whose major client, Luxottica, owns optical stores all around the U.S. and Canada. It involved taking many high-quality pictures and detailed measurements, for their renovated stores including Sunglass Huts, Pearle Vision, and LensCrafters, and their related optometrist offices throughout the GTA.

In my spare time, I enjoy playing piano and guitar, especially with other musicians. For most of my life, I’ve also been painting landscapes and old buildings using watercolour or acrylics. As a result, I’ve developed an artist’s eye to detail, framing subjects and lighting in my photos.
